Terrell is located approximately 25 miles east of Dallas on Interstate Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 80. State Highway 34, State Highway 205 and FM148 provide north-south access. Terrell ISD encompasses 166 square miles and is the largest geographical district in Kaufman County. With an enrollment of more than 4,200 students, our district has four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and two alternative education facilities, which are all fully accredited by Texas Education Agency.
Terrell ISD provides a full spectrum of educational programs and services to meet the individual needs of our diverse student population. Some of those offerings include:

Methodist Day School offers classes for 3-year olds through kindergarten students. Three-year old classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pre-K classes for 4-year olds are held Monday thur Thursday. Kindergarten students attend Monday through Thursday.

First Presbyterian Kindergarten
First Presbyterian Kindergarten offers a 3 year old class with two options. We have a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday class as well as a Monday through Friday class. We also have Pre-K Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday along with a Monday through Friday program. The hours for the 3 year old and Pre-K classes are 9:00 am until noon. Kindergarten is a 5 day program. Kindergarten hours are from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am until noon on Friday.

Poetry Community Christian School
Established in 2002, Poetry Community Christian School offers an affordable Christ-centered multi-denominational college-prep education. The school enrolls students age 5 (Primer) through 12th grade. Core classes utilize "Top 10" rated curricula. Parents are included in the school's operation through a Parent Partnership Program. Extracurricular activities include 4-H, track & field, girls' volleyball, basketball, golf, orchestra, yearbook team, and speech team.

Trinity Valley Community College
Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) is a fully accredited, comprehensive community college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. TVCC offers a two-year academic transfer program for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university. Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees are offered.
TVCC, in partnership with Terrell ISD has began offering free Dual Credit Courses. Students can earn college credits towards an associates degree from TVCC before they graduate from high school.
In addition to academic programs, TVCC offers degrees in accounting, business, computer science, drafting, management, real estate, child development, horticulture, law enforcement, and word processing. The college also has its own schools for cosmetology, vocational nursing, and associate degree nursing.

Southwestern Christian College (Church of Christ)
Terrell campus has an enrollment of 250 students. The college offers fully accredited associate degree programs in general studies and a bachelor’s degree program in Bible. The up-to-date library, business, and computer science technology programs help prepare students for careers or further education while studying in a Christian environment.
