Goal: Implement activities, encourage participation and increase promotion of tourism in the Terrell area.

Host / Coordinate / Promote Tourism-related activities

• Host the Annual Terrell Jubilee
• Coordinate July 4^th  Event at the Terrell Municipal Airport
• Support and Promote community activities that attract visitors to Terrell:
  • Happy Days in Terrell America (Celebration of National Mom & Pop Business Day)
  • “Run for the Wall” event in May
  • North Texas Antique Tractor & Engine Club Show in June
  • Joint Events with the City of Terrell
  • Journey of Hope / Ability Experience (cyclists) in July
  • Allied Remembrance Ride in September
  • Shop Home for the Holidays (Small Business Saturday)
  • Social Science Club Tour of Homes - December
• Launch and promote geocaching tour around Terrell
• Promote digital guided tour map of historic homes and murals
• Explore new opportunities to attract visitors to Terrell

Tourism Promotion

• Director of Tourism to develop a network for tourism and to achieve high visibility for our community
• Maintain the Discover Terrell website and Visit Widget to promote tourism related activities, attractions, accommodations, restaurants, shopping and more
• Continue to utilize the Terrell Chamber of Commerce / CVB website to promote and advertise tourism related events and crosslink to the Discover Terrell website
• Social media accounts to promote tourism
• Distribute Terrell America tourism information to Visitors’ Centers throughout Texas
• Explore opportunities for local industries / hotels to strengthen business relationships
• Maintain listing on TourTexas.com and review Visitors Guide download request leads report

Community Affairs

• Work with small businesses and promote downtown events (Christmas Parade, Downtown Trick-or-Treat, shopping events)
• Support BFTS museum
• Business mixers
• Support TISD Adopt-A-Classroom
• Support TISD clubs and extracurricular activities
